Deluge systems are fixed fire extinguishing systems where water or water mixed with a foaming agent is used as the extinguishing agent.

The principle of operation is to use a fire detection system which, by means of a fire control panel, triggers the electro-valve, activating the installation.

Deluge systems work on a similar principle to sprinkler systems. The difference is that in deluge systems nozzles are placed on the water distribution pipework. The nozzles do not have a shut-off, which means that the water is applied simultaneously to all parts of the area to be protected. Deluge systems are used for the protection of buildings, cooling of flammable objects wherever a rapid spread of fire can be expected, they are activated either automatically or manually.
